"You see things. You keep quiet about them. And you understand." - The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Some of you reading this will say that this photo is perfect for me. The wallflower/shy one who stands by the back wall and just takes everything in while not needing to speak. Others will be shocked that I could even identify with this type of image at all. I've always been both types. I can be the life of the party and very outgoing when it's a setting I am comfortable in or know everyone. But put me in a place with all new people and it takes some time for me to warm up (and others to warm up to me).
I don't make friends easy. I can be really shy in person and it can come across as rude or standoffish. I don't want to talk to everyone at the store. I don't want to make phone calls. I'm not as comfortable around strangers. Very introvertish. But once you get to know me, I can be funny and crazy. Especially if we meet or group up at some sort of activity that I am very passionate about. I am very comfortable in photography settings. I use to have a blast at scrapbook conventions. I can start a photography conversation with anyone. I can jump right in with any person because I know and love the topic.
In general many of my self portraits show my more outgoing, crazy, silly, fun side. I wanted to do one that showed the other side of me as well. The person that has many times blended into the wall and was the person that someone might say "was Angela here tonight?".
This is that portrait :)
